The Elite Authentications Valuation Process

Authentication Review

Before assigning value, we assess the items accompanying certificates of authenticity and /or issued documentation, along with any provenance in ensuring legitimacy. Items without verification of authenticty cannot be valued. 

Condition Assessment

We evaluate the physical condition of the item or card, including signs of wear, flaws, centering (for cards), surface quality, and overall preservation. Condition directly impacts value, especially for graded cards or delicate memorabilia.  

Market Research

We analyze recent sales data, auction results, and market trends for similar items. This comparative analysis helps determine how your item fits into the current collector landscape.

Rarity & Significance Evaluation

We consider the item’s rarity, player prominence, historical context, and demand within the collector community. Limited edition runs, milestone games, or hall-of-fame athletes can significantly influence value.

Final Valuation Report

You receive a detailed report or summary outlining the item’s estimated market value, including a breakdown of factors that influenced the assessment. This can be used for insurance, resale, or personal documentation.

Our comprehensive process ensures that every valuation is credible, defensible, and aligned with current market standards, giving you the confidence to make informed decisions about your collection. 

Should an item submitted for valuation not have reputable proof of authenticity (i.e., Certificate or Letter of Authenticity, Source or Event documentation, Provenance), Elite Authentications cannot value the item - instead, we would recommend our authentication service as a first step, and if authenticated, proceed to our valuation service.

Our valuation service provides an expert opinion on the current market value of autographed memorabilia, trading cards, and game-used equipment, based on authenticity, condition, rarity, and recent sales data. All valuations are conducted independently and are intended for informational purposes only - they do not serve as guarantees of sale price or investment return.

Valuations are issued based on the item, information and images provided. For the most accurate assessment, physical inspection is recommended. Elite Authentications accepts no liability for future market fluctuations or changes in value.
